A Fashion Show to celebrate Kaiela Arts’ 2018 collection of wearable art garments and accessories featuring artists designs screen-printed onto linen fabrics teamed with woven hats and body adornments created from local grasses. Kaiela Arts will present this Collection at the Connection between Mooroopna and Shepparton surrounded by the magnificent landscape of the river of The Flats – the inspiration for our designs.
This is our first fashion collection and was featured at Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, Jakarta Fashion Week and Vogue Online Fashion Trends in 2018. Reaching into the roots of Country, our wearable art pieces are a bold contemporary reference to Country, People and Aboriginal Culture in Yorta Yorta Country.
Why are we doing this?
This special showing of our collection is to launch our ‘Go Fund Me’ campaign to raise money for the purchase of fabric, inks and facilitate artists to travel to Spacecraft Studio in Melbourne to print the fabric for our 2019 Collection. This is an opportunity for you to enable our artists to create and show beautiful fabrics that take their names and expression of Country to the world.
Cost:- Yanha and Kaiela Arts members table for six people $84. Non-members $96.
