When my granddaughter was 3 I visited Broome to see her and my son who was filming at the time. I went over with my sister and spent a week. One of my lasting memories of that trip were the Boab trees that are native to that part of the country. I’d never seen anything like them – they were unreal. The beauty of them struck me and the memory has stayed with me. It’s something different I wanted to try with my painting to capture that beautiful memory.
