Purple Haze
A delicate weaving that captures the mystery and magic of twilight. Layers of purple drift through the piece like dusk settling over country- Soft, rich and grounded in spirit. Threads of warmth, memory and story are woven into each line, evoking the haze that blurs the space between day and night, seen and unseen. Purple haze is both a mood and a moment. Where dreaming meets presence.

About the Artist
Ally Knight
Ally is a proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung and Kamilaroi woman from Shepparton. Since having her son, Ally discovered her love and passion for weaving; having been taught by fellow Kaiela artist Suzanne Atkinson.
Ally creates a variety of items including wall hangings, bowls and jewellery and has started her own business, Mulana Earth. She loves using natural materials from the land and experimenting with new and different techniques and styles in art making including ceramics, painting and screen printing. Ally works at Kaiela Arts as the Galnyatj Education and Culture Coordinator, where she leads ceramics, drawing and painting workshops, offering students and teachers opportunities to experience and learn about local Aboriginal stories, culture and history through art making and yarning.
