Ralph Hume is a proud Yorta Yorta man with extensive experience in cultural heritage, land management and community development. Ralph is currently a Yorta Yorta Cultural Officer at the Dharnya Centre, where he works to protect and preserve cultural heritage and Country for future generations, ensuring First Peoples’ knowledge, values, and responsibilities are respected and embedded in land and community practices. Ralph previously served as the Yorta Yorta Ranger Team Leader with Parks Victoria, leading on-Country programs focused on environmental management, traditional fire methodology, cultural monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. He has also held roles as an Indigenous Cultural Development Officer with Yarra Ranges Council and as an Aboriginal Men’s Worker supporting wellbeing, youth development and family violence prevention.With qualifications in Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management from La Trobe University, Ralph combines cultural knowledge with practical skills in facilitation, environmental impact assessment, drone piloting, and native bee research, currently contributing to research in Barmah National Park. A natural storyteller and connector, Ralph is deeply committed to sharing the healing potential of landscape and strengthening connections between people, culture, and Country.
