Kaiela Arts Elders Exhibition: Life Along the RiverArtist Meet and Greet Morning Tea
The G.R.A.I.N. Store and Kaiela Arts invite you to experience ‘Life Along the River’, a collaborative exhibition by Yorta Yorta Elders, now open until December 14 at the G.R.A.I.N. Store in Nathalia. Curated by Kristen Retallick and Tarn Parker, the show is an intimate look at life, family, and traditions along the river and celebrates Elders Cynthia Hardie, Laurel Robinson, Amy Briggs, and Rochelle Patten, each a cultural knowledge keeper, artist, and beloved community figure.
The artworks are deeply rooted in the Elders connection to the river, honouring all living things in the delicate balance of nature. Their work celebrates the significance of Woka as both a physical and cultural landscape, where history, stories and memories come together.
Come and meet the artists at a special morning tea and informal meet-and-greet on Sunday, November 10 at 10:30 am. This gathering offers a chance to hear first-hand from the Elders about their work and stories.
The G.R.A.I.N. Store and Kaiela Arts share a longstanding commitment to amplifying First Nations voices, and ‘Life Along the River’ continues this important legacy.
