Steph Walker

Front of House, Public Programs and Engagement Coordinator

Steph is a proud Yorta Yorta, Kuku Yalanji, Girrimay woman born and raised on Yorta Yorta Country in Shepparton, Victoria.

Steph has experience with coordinating and facilitating a range of educational programs ensuring they are accessible, engaging, and enriching for diverse audiences. She creates interactive and inclusive experiences that connect people with art, culture, and science in meaningful ways. Her background in the development and facilitation of STEAM educational programs allows her to seamlessly integrate these disciplines, encouraging creativity and critical thinking among participants of all ages.

Outside of Kaiela Arts, Steph studies Geography at the University of Melbourne.  Her passion for geography emanates from its multidisciplinary approach to science, which examines different perspectives to help solve world problems. This method of problem solving resembles a First Nations scientific framework, which embodies a holistic way of seeing and doing to enable the health of Country, People, Flora, and Fauna.

Steph is always seeking new ways to make a positive impact within her community. By embracing her culture as a First Nations woman and using her background in science. Steph aims to collaborate with local First Nations artists, and knowledge holders, to help deliver a fully immersive cultural experience to Kaiela Dungala community members through Kaiela Arts cultural workshops and programs.
