MAREE CLARKE ARTIST TALK

Kaiela Arts is proud to commission renowned multi-disciplinary artist and curator Maree Clarke for the inaugural Kaiela Arts Editions project, which will result in the creation of a limited-edition artwork in collaboration with Spacecraft Melbourne, launching in May 2025.

Maree Clarke is a highly respected Yorta Yorta/Wamba Wamba/Mutti Mutti/Boonwurrung woman who has contributed greatly to the contemporary arts and First Nations cultural story for over thirty years.

A pivotal figure in the reclamation and revivification of South-Eastern Aboriginal cultural material objects, Maree develops her work from extensive research into the history of culturally significant traditional objects. Recognised internationally and nationally, her cross-generational approach to reviving dormant cultural knowledge is an inspiration.

Join us for this extra special artist talk to hear Maree speak about her body of work, her artistic process, and the people she takes along with her on her journey.

Presented in partnership with Shepparton Art Museum
