Steven Baksh

Steven Baksh, a self-taught artist with roots in Shepparton, draws inspiration from his family and a deep connection to his ancestors. His artistic journey began as a child, watching his uncle, Abraham Baksh, paint. Today, Steven’s work is influenced by his two sisters, Stephanie and Melissa Taylor, who have guided his creative path.

Specializing in spirit x-ray art and dot paintings, Steven’s pieces reflect themes of ancestry and familial bonds. After attending McGuire College until Year 10, he pursued formal training at TAFE but credits much of his growth to his self-taught beginnings. His art has been exhibited at the DumaWal Art Gallery in Bendigo, where he recently held a solo show.

Steven’s primary motivation is his role as a father. Through his artwork, he seeks to inspire his children and give them a legacy they can take pride in.
