Story/Description: Ngarring translates to ‘black cockatoo’ in the Yorta Yorta language. As a symbol of change and enlightenment, the Ngarring heralds the coming of rain. My kinship is strongly associated with water symbols and totems. My totems are all water animals, the Long Neck Turtle (my tribal totem) and Murray Cod (my personal totem). The water symbols in the background reflect these totems and symbolism.
