Mulana Earth – Key Chain $40

Ally is a proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung and Kamilaroi woman from Shepparton. Since becoming a mother five years ago, she discovered a deep passion for weaving, learning her practice from senior Kaiela artist Suzanne Atkinson.

Ally creates a diverse range of works including wall hangings, vessels, and jewellery, and is the founder of her own business, Mulana Earth. Her practice is grounded in the use of natural materials sourced from Country - such as raffia, lomandra and cumbungi and is driven by an ongoing exploration of new techniques and forms.

Alongside her weaving practice, Ally works across ceramics, painting and screen printing, reflecting a dynamic and evolving multidisciplinary approach. She is the Studio Coordinator at Kaiela Arts, where she leads the ceramics program, supports fellow artists in their practices, and facilitates workshops within the community.

Ally’s work has been exhibited in multiple shows at Kaiela Arts and across the region, including the Grain Store and Tatura Community House, as well as major national art fairs such as Melbourne Art Fair and Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair. Her woven designs have also been translated into functional merchandise, including Kaiela Arts’ hand screen-printed tea towels.
