Gulbalanha (Peace)

Georgina Post

Gulbalanha meaning peace in Wiradjuri, tells my story of choosing calm and protecting my energy as a young Aboriginal woman finding her way.
The yellow meeting places represent the people in my life who feel safe my circle. They’re the ones who show up, support me, and bring good energy. Those spaces are about connection, love, and being able to just be myself without stress or pressure. The dots linking them together show how we stay connected, how we support each other, and how those relationships keep me grounded.

The lines flowing around the meeting places represent everything that used to feel heavy stress, negativity, and things that don’t belong in my space anymore. Instead of sitting in the centre with me, they’re moving outwards, slowly being pushed away. That’s me learning to let go and choosing peace over chaos.

This piece is really personal. It’s about growing, setting boundaries, and realising not everyone deserves access to your energy. Gulbalanha is a reminder to myself to stay close to the people who bring me calm, and to keep choosing peace every day.
