National Indigenous Art Fair 2026
We’re thrilled to share that Kaiela Arts’ first participation in the National Indigenous Art Fair (NIAF) on beautiful Gadigal Country recently was a wonderful success.
Over three busy and rewarding days, Gallery Manager and Curator Chloe Jones, Screen-printing Coordinator Tarn Parker, featured artist Glennys Briggs, and Glennys’ husband Ian Muir proudly represented Kaiela Arts alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art centres from across the country.
“The view of the venue for the 2026 Sydney Indigenous Art Fair was breathtaking. It was ideal for the amazing Art stalls that filled the space. Each Art Centre stall contained an incredible range of diverse high quality art products. Kaiela Arts can hold its head high for it stood toe to toe with Artwork that was beautifully presented, admired and sought by the art lovers and collectors of fine authentic First Nations art. Our artists who presented their works should be congratulated for the quality and the admiration that was received from the viewers and collectors” Glennys Briggs.
As one of only two Aboriginal-owned art centres in Victoria, it was a significant opportunity to share the strength of our artists, stories and community with new audiences on a national platform. Beyond the artwork, the fair was about building relationships, reconnecting with old friends, meeting new supporters, and strengthening connections across the Indigenous arts sector.
We were humbled by the warm response to our artists’ work and grateful for every conversation, purchase and connection made throughout the weekend. Opportunities like NIAF are invaluable in expanding the reach of our artists while continuing to grow Kaiela Arts’ presence within the national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts community.
A heartfelt thank you to the NIAF team, everyone who stopped by our booth, supported our artists, and helped make our first National Indigenous Art Fair such a memorable experience.
